Mountain Bikers and Food Lovers Unite – Go to Morzine for Summer Delights!
Morzine and the Portes du Soleil area are a well-known magnet for mountain bikers; ride thousands of kilometres of downhill and cross-country trails, parks, all well linked with an extensive lift system and a stunning mountain backdrop. If this isn’t enough to get you excited, the resort also hosts a number of mountain biking events throughout the summer and all complemented with a plethora of culinary delights to refuel!

Mountain Biking Events
Passports du Soleil – 26th – 28th June
The Passports du Soleil is an 80km mountain biking trek from 1000m to 2250m taking you from France to Switzerland and back, using a total of 15 lifts, includes a 1 hour night ride, a race through the village and a kids’ race. We can source entry tickets and still have space in Morzine for this not-to-be-missed event next week from just £60 per person.
Alpine Battle – 13th July
This mountain biking endurance race is aimed at mountain bikers with a good ability and takes place in Les Gets. Teams of two are given a route map and challenged to pass through designated check points over two days. Organisers track competitors with GPS systems, so there’s no cheating and skipping checkpoints! The fastest team to complete all check points win!

Chatel Bike Festival – 14th July
Watch some top mountain bikers at this free one-day event, and try out a few bikes for yourself. There will be gigs, competitions and much more for one day only. Chalet Inferno is also hosting a pool party and BBQ from 3pm if you can tear yourself away from your bike.
And when you need refuelling…
L’Aubergade, a family run hotel in the heart of Morzine, hosts a bring your own meat BBQ and Happy Hour every Tuesday from 6pm, great timing to soak up those drinks after their happy hour from 4pm-6pm. Bring your own meat and they will supply the chef, bread, salad and sauces!
Hotel Le Cottage, 10 metres from Le Pleney lift in Morzine, puts on a Hog Roast every Saturday from 3.30pm offering slow cooked pork, salad and accompaniments after a hot day on the mountain. And if you can stomach more food head to Chalet Inferno located on Point du Nyon overlooking Morzine; on Sundays throughout the summer they offer an all-you-can-eat roast dinner from 1pm!
If you love your food as much as you love your mountain biking then you’ll love the Morzine foodies week, Aime ses Saveurs, from 10th August. Intersperse some mountain biking with workshops, tastings, and courses focused on local Savoyard food.
